October is among us! Fall climbing definitely rocks, but its soo short lived. School Room Wall has been tantalizing me all summer. This place is epic to those who are local and want a low-key, badass place to climb that’s just moments from your backyard. The season is here where its finally “safe” to touch this rock. (Rumor has it, that in the middle of the summer, even if you hike up at 5am, that the rock is STILL too hot to touch). That’s some killer sunlight!
Last February, I was a little too anxious on my spring climbing and thought School Room would be “warm,” hence the direct, fierce sunshine. It was bound to turn a winter day into paradise, right? I was wrong… this shot of my feet was probably taken at one of THEE coldest moments in my life. Stellar view. But super numb fingertips. Handwarmers in the chalk bag is a tall tale; I promise it doesn’t work… unless the ones I had that day just happened to be the worst handwarmers ever made, in the history of handwarmers.
Long story short- I vow to get as much School Room action in as possible before the snow starts to fall… Boo!! I REALLY hate winter.
